At a glance
The HoloNet, also spelled Holonet, was a large communications system used by the citizens of the Galactic Republic and its successor state, the Galactic Empire. The HoloNet News was broadcast on the HoloNet during the reign of both governments.
Following the Battle of Endor, the New Republic, the successor government to the Rebel Alliance, abolished the Imperial restrictions and censorship on HoloNet. They also encouraged the creation of several HoloNet channels including the Queen of the Core Network to win over the galactic public. By 5 ABY, the New Republic had assumed control of HoloNet.
The Gaia Stream is envisioned as what the Holonet was to the New Republic in Star Wars.
Let’s define how we use this collection of words in this paper:
- Gaia - The Gaia Commons Holonic Ecosystem.
- Stream - Open-source protocols and software for a sovereign, near-instantaneous, free flow planetary communications grid encompassing the whole and available to all points of origin.
- Flow - A portion of Stream specific to points of origin (see examples below)
- Unite Kindness: An open source grid to power the Globally Crowdsourced 1 Billion Acts of Kindness Movement
- MC3 - The commercial grid operated by MC3, Inc.
- MC2 - The commons engine grid operated by MC2, Inc.
- Your Collective - Build your Flow using Stream
- Liquid - Liquid’s purpose is to create and sustain dynamic Flows for specific communities and their specific needs across the Gaia Stream network and the the Global Gaia Commons as a collective current-see. You receive Liquid by directly participating in the Stream network and its vitality.
- Aether - A permission-less protocol for creating and accessing mutable, tamper-proof documents that serve as the foundation of communications in Stream, complete with profiles, storage, actions, agency, exchange, and messaging.
- Network - The collection of components that interface within or as a Flow.
- Protocol - The methods of interfacing within the Network.
- Current-See - A means by which Human Scale Coordination can support the creation of a scalable system of exchange based on real Units of Account (UoA) as Bearer Instruments (Sacred Promises) in which any number of people can find themselves working together towards a common goal.
- Technology - The operation of protocols, tokens, and components within or as a Flow.
- Faya - Faya is the beneficial AI that holds verifiable agency within a Flow and throughout Stream on behalf of both common and commercial grid users to employ bots and bot-assisted tasks at scale.
- Game-B - A planetary, distributed, and decentralized holographic cyberspace made of collaborative Streams and Flows: a new World-Wide Web for Gaia to explore and serve as a collectively intelligent group of collaborative beings .
Core components
This is the original vision of components, protocols, tokens, and technologies that make up a Flow in the Stream. Each flow is constructed using a predefined template for its purpose, such as an eco-village, an NGO, a startup, a government agency, app, etc, or is custom built using Aether.
