Stream can accept monetary donations in addition to time and talent donations and intangible assets. Anyone in the Gaia Stream can and will accept all common forms of electronic payment (such as credit and debit cards) initially, in any denomination or currency, as well as a curated list of digital tokens. All donations will arrive in an account auditable as a charitable account and operating under international non-profit regulations.
We have already made a strategic partnership with a platform that will allow us to access less than interchange pricing with the Interledger Protocol, and interchange plus pricing with the internationally trusted and recognized Stripe platform, allowing us to operate at the lowest available overhead prices on offer for both micro and macro transactions on network.
Unlike most other platforms, we will not lose entire percentage points of charitable donations to ‘flat’ fees. Stream already provides rich technological options that will allow us to pass the bare minimum of required data, and will permit us to process recurring payments using only individual payment tokens, not live card numbers or other personally identifiable information.
Anyone in Stream can also accept regulated digital currencies for both payment as well as financing campaigns or movement of actions within a community. This enables the power of decentralized payment and reward options to be offered to both sides of the exchange.
